Rumor had it that the Ojai Skate Park was to be torn down in the event that the city reached its funding goal.
In January of 09' Some friends and I took a trip to the skatepark on a saturday morning to beat the crouds. Every time we would take a trip to that park, we would notice the sign out in front getting closer and closer to the $350,000 mark. Wich meant, Goodbye to the wooden skatepark, and hello to an all cement park. Now dont get me wrong, an all cement park isnt the end of the world but the Ojai skate park is one of the only skateparks left in SoCal that is still construsted with the majority of the materials being wood. Its a nice change from all the cement parks (Oxnard, Ventura, Fillmore, Santa Barbra). But on that January saturday morning we saw the donation sign fulled to the top. We should be exspecting a new skate park this summer. They are currently over their mark of $350,000 at $361,000 and counting.
